Please join us on Wednesday, November 13 at 7 pm in the staff lounge for our next meeting. We will be voting to move forward with one of four proposed funding models for disbursement of this year's Gaming Grant funds. If you are planning on attending, here are some things you may want to review before the meeting:

Please join us on Thursday, October 10 at 7 pm in the staff lounge for our next meeting. This is an important one - as you will see from the agenda, we will primarily be reviewing and discussing the requests for funding from this year's Community Gaming Grant. The minutes from September's meeting can be found here. An overview of this year's funding requests is available here. More details on individual requests will be available at the meeting. Voting on the disbursement of funds will happen at the November meeting. You can check out this FAQ document for more information about Gaming Grants in general, including how the PAC is allowed to use the funds. We hope to see you at the walkabout tomorrow night! It's a really interesting and informative time and chance to hear from your student's teachers. PAC folks will be there so please come and say hi.
Details here: OCTOBER MEETING SAVE-THE-DATE: Thursday, October 19th at 7:00 PM in the Staff Room: 2017-18 PAC budget vote meeting ----- Some Details: * Usual meeting business * Voting in a new Member-at-Large * Quick update from sub-committee(s) * Budget discussion and vote which we will run as smoothly and quickly as possible. Budget vote information: Each year, the PAC is responsible for determining how the BC Gaming Grant moneys are distributed. We accept requests from teachers and staff (which always exceed the amount we have to work with by about double), put it all into a spreadsheet with a few options, and then we vote on the disbursement. This is a very important responsibility and it's vital that we have as many voices present as possible so we can get input and feedback from parents and have enough people present to count as a legal vote according to our Constitution. About a week before the meeting, you will be able to view the agenda here. Please find the meeting documents for April below as well as minutes for our previous meeting in February
The last meeting of the year is May 10th at 7pm in the staff lounge and we will have Roma Mehta available for questions and support in light of the recent drug overdose at Tupper.
Roma is the SACY Parent Engagement Worker with Youth Addiction and Prevention Services at Vancouver Coastal Health |
